Actually bike I really like right now is the ZX10R. It looks sick, and it looks like a lot of fun. If I had money right now for a new bike, I would keep the Streetfighter for the street, and get the ZX10r for the street and track.

We are picking up Donna's ZX6R today, so I will at least get to play on that. :-)

I don't know, they just changed their upgrade policy from 12 months to 20 months. Maybe they will make an exception for the iPhone, not sure. If they don't then it doesn't make sense to get one unless you live don't live in an LTE area and won't be getting it for awhile.

Yup verizon had changed their policies. Now what hasn't been announced is if we can opt for one year plans to counteract with a.slightly higher upgrade price.

Okay, so the general assumption at this point is that Tuesday's big Verizon announcement will be the oft-rumored CDMA iPhone. But as for when it comes out, well... the Wall Street Journal is saying (by way of its long-standing sources) near the end of the month. Nothing else to go by at this point, but it's definitely not out of the question. At least we won't have to wait long to find out -- say, have you bookmarked our liveblog yet?

Hey Troy, here is some news for you. Ducati is not the best bike, according to ME.

As for you taking cheap shots at me about maybe losing my house, that is more due to a divorce and two layoffs. Until November, I had taken a $115k cut in household income. Then I got laid off again., making it a $220k reduction in household income.

Let's see you take that kind of hit, and bike or not, try to make a $2500 a month mortgage, plus another $1000 a month in household bills, then pay insurance, cell phone, a car payment. Oh, and eat, put gas in your car, etc...

Sure, I could have bought less bikes and all that and it would have helped, but you don't know that at the time. I could have been a miser, and never spent anything and not enjoyed things and one day I die with a million in the bank and leave it all to someone else. LOL

I worked hard for what I had, I enjoyed it, but due to some things beyond my control, I was dealt a few massive financial blows and that's that. I don't make excuses for it, it is what it is.

If you want to go back to your old tactics and start taking cheap shots at me because you lost another argument and are desperate to try and turn this around, have at it, it just makes you look like a prick.

WHatever problems I will face if I don't find a job soon, will be stress enough. What you think about it on a motorcycle forum isn't going to change that. LOL

Making jokes and banter in the name of good fun is not the same. Listen, I don't care what you say. The reality of life, good or bad, has far more impact on me than what you say on an internet forum. You cannot possibly say anything, that will in any way impact me even 0.1% of what any given situation might impart on me. I don't take your words personally, because they have no effect on me.

But your motives? Sure, I will point out where you are being a dick, because I think that when people read it, and what you said, it will make you look like a dick.

We all make decisions, that either work out fine, or they don't. you may look at the way I spent money and think it was foolish, and maybe in retrospect it was. Or I could have gotten a promotion and still be making all that money and we wouldn't be having this conversation. Some people get married and later it turns out to be the wrong choice. We all ride, which many people think is crazy, and statistically it probably. For many of us it will work out fine. For others, the decision will cost them the ability to walk, and has cost several forum members their very lives.

So should you then make fun of them, telling them what a dumb decision they made to do a track day at Roebling that cost them their life?

What's the difference? because it is money? Frankly, losing your shirt financially is better than losing your life or your legs. But to the people going through it, do you think that your words are going to have an effect on them that rivals what the reality of their lives has already done? LOL

We all make decisions. With jobs. With money. With relationships. With riding. The list goes on. And how do we know if the decisions were good or dumb? Retrospect usually. If you are still married 30 years later, or you got divorced in 6 months. If you had a great career, or you crashed and burned. if you are still riding and healthy, or you are a paraplegic or in the grave.

At the time, we all make decisions and they probably seem like the right or ok thing to do, at the time. None of us goes in expecting to crash and burn.

But armchair quarterbacking it, makes you look foolish. Trying to get personal about someone's layoff and financial misfortune over a discussion about the Android OS, just makes you look like a douche. :)

Anyway, do whatever you want. I am not bothered by it, so much as I want you to understand the difference, and how it makes you look. Because despite what you or others may think of me, I am confident that 90% of the people reading this post, will agree with me on many levels.

Oh, I agree. I like the banter and goofing around, it helps pass the time and can be entertaining busting each other's balls.

But Troy and a few others always feel the need to try and get personal. And truly, what they say never upsets me. But I will make use of it and smash them back in the face with it and make them look like dicks. I mean, if they are going to give me the ammo... LOL

If I was upset by things being personal, I wouldn't post my personal business here. If it bothered me, or I was embarassed by it, I would not open myself up to it by posting it. They only know things abut me, because I am candid and open and honest by nature. I don't take a lot of things personally, which is why I can share them and discuss them, whereas most people would try to cover it up or not make it known.

I know. I'm just over here trying to accept the truth. I was also told I was a fat ugly redneck. That one is gonna hurt my feelings for the rest of the day.

I think I will go sell my Droid and buy an iphone 4 so I can feel better like some sort of superior force. I'll run speed tests and post them a lot and chuckle at everyone who has entry-level smartphones! I'll be almost like God. Hopefully my hair doesn't turn gray and sh!$ doesn't constantly start coming out of my mouth. I would have to try really hard then to remain the coolest guy in the universe!!!

Im heavily leaning toward Verizon for my next phone. AT&T's Android selection sucks. The Atrix would be cool if it didnt have Motoblur. But I'm (still) digging the Thunderbolt, the new LG and the Droid Bionic is gonna be rockin. Im not a fan of the policies VZW is changing though. I do get a heavy discount through work though. Decisions Decisions....

To keep on topic: I think I want to get a new MacBook next year. Looking at the MacBook Pro 15'.

Yes once I've off this so called 2 year contract I'll ditch the bad evil too. I was just taking to another member from GSB who rides with us and he mentioned the same issues I had with Att and he dropped them and payed a plenty but it was for the better. Overall Att has the worst customer service on record and it's been documented enough times people have seen the light of day associated who Att ego.

I had Verizon service for years before finally deciding to switch to ATT to get the iPhone 3G...one month before the 3GS came out! Whatev, no big...but I will say this...personally I think the iPhone is a cool gadget, a shitty phone, on a crappy ass network...have had nothing but problems with the damn thing and am looking forward to getting rid of it and ATT.

I actually work for a major telecommunications company...not going to actually say which one but those of you who may be more astute may be able to figure it out :)

I sure hope so. It will free up bandwidth for the rest of us. Polls state other wise though. The majority of people who switched for the iPhone will stay with att while over 30% of people who bought or would have bought a droid on verizon will switch to or buy the iPhone.

Actually, the Samsung Fascinate is a Verizon phone. AT&T's version is called the Captivate.... and neither of them allow you to side-load applications. Only the T-mobile (Vibrant) and Sprint (Epic) versions do


As an aside, I don't foresee a mass migration from AT&T. 2 years is an eternity with the current pace of smartphone development. Time will tell, though

There's just too much interesting information coming together this time, and I believe this would really explain the lackluster releases for first quarter Verizon at CES last week. It honestly makes a lot of sense.

Either way, will know at 11:00 tomorrow morning. If they do release, I'll have Mary's on order to complement the Incredible immediately.

Everything I'm hearing is announced tomorrow, available in two to three weeks. That would set up for availability by Valentine's Day. That would be a VERY smart marketing move.

Apple stock went up $6.40 a share today so just about everyone in the world believe the announcement is tomorrow, combined with apple cutting all vacations for manufacturing wing early january. Seems a slam dunk.

Don't know yet, but have wanted the iPhone from the beginning. This should be at worst the iPhone 4 with the antenna issue fixed. And that was and is still a very good phone. I'm keeping my Incredible and this will be for Mary so it will work out perfect. If it is a newer addition, just an added bonus.

I tend to agree with you, but I wonder how many people will eat the cost of the early termination, to go to another carrier, to get the exact same phone that they already had?

And I hope that when they start releasing the numbers, that they have a way to calculate how many people did simply go from one carrier to the other, as opposed to new iPhone customers. Because if a lot of people do simply switch, it would be nice if Apple was honest about it, rather than try to add the two numbers together and pretend that their market share is higher than it is.

eg. a million people switch from AT&T's iPhone to Verizon's. That means there are still a million people running an iPhone. I bet that Apple tries to count them twice to pump up their numbers. In effect, they were AT&T clients, and are not Verizon. Not both.

Agreed. I think that most people that really wanted an iPhone, switched to AT%T at some point. The phone has been our for 3+ years now, more than long enough for people's contracts with other carriers to expire. There will be some that make the move to Verizon because they hate AT&T's service, but I bet that many will wait until an LTE comes out. It just doesn't make sense to switch now, get the outdated phone that they already have, and be locked into a 20 month upgrade cycle before they can get the phone that they want or enjoy LTE.

A few might, but I think that most won't. They will pick up some sales from people that are ready to upgrade and don't know enough about LTE or waiting for the next version, etc...
