Well i sold the gsxr a couple weeks ago to originally upgrade to my friends 08. I also looked at a few larger displacement bikes, but couldnt justify paying the higher insurance, and most likly expensive tickets that come from them. So i got to looking around on the internet and found a dealer in savannah selling 09 left over inventory bikes for less OTD than a used one would run. So after some negotiating over the phone long story short i left before lunch and got home late last night with a new bike. Thanks to the rain i have yet to do anything but sit on it and drool over it.

Sorry for the crappy pics, but lets face it the rain is making it difficult

Factory Ohlins is a cool addition, i hear its not quite as good as the aftermarket version though.

Heres a picture of its older brother i owned back in 2006. I enjoyed this bike so much i regreted selling it.

I look forward to seeing how it compares to my 636. It has close to the same HP that it had, but the Showa Large Piston suspension is supposed to be incredible. All the reviews ive read have given it great praise. Won the shootout last year when it came out.
anyway ill try and shoot some better pics when it gets nice out.

Congrats. I like it a lot. Let us know what you think of it once you get a chance to put some miles on it. Do you still have to do the jumper mod on the 09's to un-restrict them?

Nice!
What was Kawi thinking with that Tach setup though?
First off, they only used like half of the gauge for a usable spread. They could have pushed the redline 16k number a bit further over the top closer to the speedo/odo window. And maybe you'd get used to it, but having the 8k-16k in the green? I guess it would make it easy at a glance to see where you are in the rev range.

thanks guys the first time i saw it i thought it looked to much like an insect, but the more i look at it the more i like it. It has a really good seating position, and has some great features for the price. Looking forward to see what the motor is capable of since its claimed to 115hp now. Gonna be nice to have a slipper clutch again too. If this F'n rain will ever let up i can actually ride it and give a review of what i think.

Awesome bike, love the green.
As for the O damper just pull it off and take it to someone for some heavier weight oil. MxTuner in my sig can do this for you. It will make a big difference.
Congrats.

hey Larry why dont you fix your bikes info to None haha
but seriously you may need to break the bike in for me since i havnt had time to ride it. I put 50 miles on it sunday in the nasty cold and it rode VERY smooth. I think if your looking into one you would be very pleased.

LOL - that is just wrong man, wrong I tell you!!
Hopefully it will warm up here and you can get some miles in. You can feel free at anytime to drop it off. My garage needs another bike in it and I will break it in for you just fine. :)

LOL, you'd be very disappointed in his "by the book" break in. You should get it for a weekend to properly break it in for power and we'll do a mountain run. Hey, the same camera mount fits my FJR as it did on the R6. We'll even film some video of his bike for him. :o
