My first time seeing it. I found it on TV by mistake, but I watched 3 hours of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely by their DVD's. :D

I've seen both the Long Way Around and the Long Way Down. The long way around is definitely more enjoyable and they spend more time in out of way places. But I certainly enjoy the LWD also. Going through Mongolia in the LWA was just amazing! They learned a lot going to the 2nd one. Besides being on the lighter GS1200's they no longer carry a big top case which kept their weight lower.

That looks awesome!

I haven't seen any good motorcyclin' shows since Twist the Throttle.

I don't have cable, but maybe I can find it on Netflix or something.

Speaking of, there was "travelogue" on Netflix from 1971 called "Cycles South" that was at the very least interesting. The beginning parts in the Rockies were insane.

One scene I thought was funny on LWD when they were riding in the desert feeling sorry for themselves and they came upon a guy on a BICYCLE with small trailer attached who's spent the last 12 years riding round the world!!

Charlie also did the Dakar race in a similar documentary. I actually enjoyed it a lot cause you got to see all the behind the scenes stuff with the Dakar rally that you normally don't see.

My wife found the LWR book when it was released at B&N years ago and I ordered the box set with all three series (LWR, LWD and Race to Dakar) for our anniversary. Great Series.

There was some mention of them doing A third trip "Long way Up" from Cape Horn to Canada... I don't think it ever materialized.

It's funny I found this thread because I just finished the 3rd episode of LWR about an hour ago.
