ok so I plan on getting the permit sometime this week.
Should I make an appointment at the DMV? where can I find an online PDF for the booklet I need to study out of (I can't find it on google? maybe I'm just dumb haha)? Is it hard?
thanks

if you take the MSF course and complete it, you will get your M Endorsement and wont have to get a permit.. I went and got my permit then took the class but you could save some time and skip the permit... just my $.02

If you've had a driver's license before now, then it's no big deal, the permit is just a written test and all simple questions. The only ones that I wasn't aware of, and they didn't cover at MSF were the correct times to stand.
Good luck, and learn to love the parking lots.

I had to renew mine and a guy that was in front of me said the written test doesn't go along with the book all that much but when I took it, it was pretty much common sense. Still gotta go test for my full licence.

When I took the test it was just common sense. Didn't have to read the book

complete opposite for me. The test was 100% the book. Lane position, merging, etc. I took my permit during the week and went outside and took my test a couple weekends later. Although I do suggest taking a MSF course for knowledge and good habits it's not required to take the joke of a test they make you take for your lic.

Hope it wasn't an important 2 questions, like remembering to put your feet down when you stop. ;)
