Both things piss me off. I don't care about Kate, though. The government is beyond broke and should not be purchasing anything that can't be classified as "must have to continue the basic required function." And the government should not buy from foreign sources, ever, unless there simply is no source in the US. Private citizens can buy whatever they want from wherever they want but the government is spending money that they TOOK from US citizens and it should always go back to US citizens if at all possible. The arrogance and obliviousness of this just defy belief. Beyond the foreign sourcing and extravagance, why is some tiny decorating boutique in the middle of this transaction. If I was going to by $5M worth of stemware, I'd be getting bids directly from manufacturers. I smell a rat.
