Wanted motorcycle project

I'm thinking about getting back into bikes, but as usual with a twist. I've done biodiesel, waste motor oil, propane, and the like with diesels. But honestly I'm tired of spending time filtering and tinkering. I want something I can just drive. So the next project is a electric motorcycle. I was going to try a electric car, but I'm going to start small first. What I'm looking for is a sportbike with a dead engine. In my mind, an older sportbike with a steel frame would be perfect. The only real specifications I need is that it can be tagged. (Needs title or to be 1985 or older) So what does the masses have tucked away in their garages?

i've got a ducati 748 frame (title too), swingarm, front/rear suspension, and other misc parts...

Looking more for a "rolling" bike that's complete but perhaps broken engine wise. Plus it'd be a shame to hack up a duc for a frakenbike.

Or a entry sportbike in running condition would work as well. I could always sell off the stock engine/parts. Something like a Katana, older CBR, Mini Ninjas, exc.

Yup, been searching ebay and craigslist. I've found a few potential bikes on CL. But getting people to respond back seems to be impossible.
