View Full Version : Finally getting a set of new tires

I've had the factory delivered tires on my bike since I bought it 5 years ago, and they have 13,000 miles on them. Since I don't "ride hard" (obviously) I'm interested in something similar that is grippy, but more on the touring side of things. I have a Ninja 650R.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I'll be doing some research as well, but I would trust more the opinions of people who actually ride on the tires vs. what a distributor would tell me about them.

Thanks

Pirelli Angel ST or Pirelli Diablo. The Angel is a little more sport touring than the Diablo which has more grip but wont have the extended mileage of the Angel. I would recommend an E-Spec 180 angel for the 650R.

Avon Storm II's, I've had them on my BMW and they've lasted probably 12k miles on a bike that's easily 200lbs heavier than you Ninja. They look nice and grip well too.

I like the Dunlop Roadsmarts.

Dunlop Roadsmarts, Pirelli Angels, Michelin Pilot Road 2s or 3, Bridgestone BT23, I personally use the roadsmarts and love them. I generally put the angels on the bigger bikes.

Another vote for roadsmarts here.
