Okay, this seems to be a simple fix but I'm having problems.

The brake light won't shut off after I use the foot Brake. ( I know it's the foot brake and I know I need to tighten the resistance on it )

But I can't seem to tighten it up. I know if I slip my foot of the break quickly it will shut off..but if i take my foot off naturally it will stick on.

I know there is a screw on the return and there are springs on the foot brake. but I can't seem to get them to work together to turn the brake light off naturally.

Any Ideas?

it might not be the foot brake at all it could be a loose connction that is being grounded. but i could be wrong or get a new foot brake lever. just check the connections though jus to be sure.

sounds like a sticky light meter/switch. id guess its a bit over tightened. should be a 17mm plastic screw as the base. give its a spin in the rt direction. thatall ease tension on the switch

Yea My cbr had that issue when i replace the rear brake peg that snapped off when it dropped. Doug is right on that plastic screw at the base it's a simple fix.

Now are we talking about the Top bolt or the Bottom Bolt? Here is the diagram from the Service Manual.

It could be the wire on the right of your diagram, with the spring, between and behind your peg and lever. That is what controls the light going on and off.

Great now I'm confused... Is it the bolt or is it the wire?

The switch at the end of the wire turns the brake light on when the pedal is depressed. It should also release fully when the pedal is released.

And the spring returns the pedal to it's "neutral" position. If the pedal doesn't come back up, the switch won't turn off the light.

The top bolt in the diagram is part of the hydraulic system, attaching the banjo fitting to the master cylinder. DON'T MESS WITH IT.
The bottom bolt is the pedal position adjuster. It raises or lowers the pedal. If you adjust the pedal position, you might have to adjust the switch also. You do that with the knurled adjuster you can see right next to the peg bracket.

now it was getting me confused. but in the pic if you see the 2 mounting bolt at the 'V' shaped ,the wire to be adjusted is right behind it.and its only a wire comig out of it, the adjuster is the balck plastic part.a 17 mm wrench will fit it.
