Wanted: older iPhone

Looking for an older iPhone for my daughter's birthday. Not going to have a data plan, so 2g/3g/whatever doesn't really matter... Just needs to be functional and work as a phone. (trying to avoid craigslist or ebay, hate both of them!)

If you are not going to have data, you probably need to double check that wifi works on any phone you are checking out. I have an older 16gb 3g model, but the wifi went tits up and its not too un-common on them. Wifi will turn on and won't give you an error message, but it will never find any open signals. Just a heads up since you are shopping. An iphone with no data and no wifi isn't much of a phone. Pretty much just an ipod with phone capabilities.

Mine has the same problem. Cancelled my AT&T last month so now its only good for music.
