View Full Version : TapaTalk app for mobile phones?

I searched around and finally found a few threads stating that the board was setup for TapaTalk, as opposed to other apps like TouchBB or Soapbox.. so I downloaded the free version for my iPhone today. I'm getting an error when attempting to connect:
The forum you are visiting is temporarily closed, please try again laterSo my question is.. is GSB still setup for TapaTalk, or are we able to use a different app to view?

I'll check into it. I had it turned on. Tapatalk did some kind of upgrade and it messed up our logo on their site. I got an email about it today and had to re-upload the logo. I'll loook into it.

You got it on your android phone or Iphone. Go to the app and find GSB and then log on....from there you can surf the forum!!

IM not a dude ?...and whats the difference with a tap and talk then just going to the website on my iphone...honestly I havent taken the time to check out the tap and talk features...

It just makes it easier to read the board. You don't have to pinch to zoom all the time to be able to read anything

The free version is "read only"......Im pretty sure everyone has tricked off 3 dollars before...This is a good investment IMO!!!

Its just an app that reads the XML feed of the threads instead of having to do the entire HTML webpage. You dont get the formatting, logos, theme, etc.. but you do get all the data, and its laid out like any other iPhone app.. imho worth the $2 for full usage..

Yea I'm sure he is messing around Laz isn't that stupid or maybe he is (LOL). Tapatalk wouldn't benifit him but he could use Opera browser on his mobile phone been using that a wile and really like that for window mobile Os. Opera has all the pinch and zoom features everybody brags around .

If you guys look at the time stamps, you can see that Laz was probably typing his post while chkaotic was posting his. As for google, well, yeah. He could google it but GSB is better than google ya know. You'll only get clear, concise, correct information when you ask a question here instead of 40,000,000 answers including 38,000,000 that are irrelevant advertisements for products you're not interested in. (Can ya tell I'm falling out of love with google?)

Anyone using this notice that ya don't get the unread posts anymore? I can read threads and everything but it keeps tellin me there are no new ones and it's been doing this for a few days now.

same here. also crashes every time I try to use it. due to the new update
since i got the new 2.1 update on the Droid, (i uninstalled all the apps prior to doing the update), i havent re-installed Tap, just havent had a need for it.

I don't see the big deal with this at all. I downloaded it on the Iphone just now and overall didn't see any benifits but I need to mess around with this a little more. Still learning this phone. Troy how do I get the iphone4 to play music to the Scalerider I did pair it just now and everything is running there just fine. I did have some slight issues with the Bt on the phone freezing up but I did a hard reboot and it fixed that.

I don't browse the forums on my phone much (if ever), but I've had waaaay less problems with websites in general since upgrading to a modern phone (Vibrant). Even JavaScript heavy ones.

I used it on a galaxy tablet for the first time on Friday, it's pretty sweet. No pics but I can take one later tonight. Basically they just slim down and simplify the board. No scrolling, that's the big thing and no zooming in and out.

I will check it out. I found that since ditching the iPhone, not only have I yet to have a single dropped call and the phone actually works every time I try to make a call, the browsing experience on the 4.3" display is way better than it was on the iPhone. Even the iPhone 4 looks too tiny. Yeah, they increased the resolution, but the screen is still the size of a postage stamp so it doesn't make reading emails or forums any easier.

Well, I finally got fed up with the dropped calls, and having to try 10 times just to make a call, etc... The AT%T network is just not reliable enough for me. But I stayed with them as long as I did because the iPhone was really the best hardware out there.
Not any more though. The EVO, Droid X an Samsung Galaxy have awesome power and all the features that the iPhone has. Except I don't have to deal with iTunes, I can swap out batteries or even install higher capacity ones... Plus the phone takes MicroSD cards, so I can swap out memory cards for different movies or music collections rather than having to wait 20 minutes to resynch with iTunes.
I also find the HDMI output useful, plus the LED flash for the 8mp camera, and the screen is sooooo much better than the iPhone was. Watching video or browsing is so much better with all this extra screen real estate, but the phone is not that much bigger overall.
And, I have Adobe Flash, which most of the streaming video on the web uses, so no more half completed web sites.
The list goes on and on, but despite the Droid X spanking the iPhone from a hardware perspective, the bottom line is that I have yet to have a single dropped call. Not a one!

sound's like a winner in my book. I like my iphone4 for the Retina display (clearest picture out there )and it's decent but I agree with you Att clearly isn't the best out there on network. Im told 4g is in the work's soon from a friend who works within Att.

Well, the first gen droids did not stack up and neither did the OS. These latest ones are amazing.

The only thing I feel the iTrendy has better over my Droid X is the camera quality. Nothing else aside from that.
Glad to know this site uses Tapatalk. I willbe adding this forum to my list as well.:up:
