So it was brought up. Anyone interested in a day trip up to the gap? Leave Sat Early...ride sat n sun, come home sun eve?

The store is booked...Kickstand is booked....Punkin Center Resort is kinda too far....

Fontana has a 2 bedroom laurel cabin open (1 queen bdrm and 1 twin bdrm). Cost w/ tax would be 180 for the night. we could get six ppl in the cabin making the cost for one night $60 for me n Rob in the queen and $30 a person for the rest.

Tapoco isn't open yet...July 4th is the scheduled date.

Who wants to go? I need to know pretty quick to make sure we get that cabin. We can bring our own food, water and alcohol/beer (dry county although the general store sells beer)....

I would be open from the 12th to the 15th because of a vacation week starting on the 13th. But no way I could get the 11th off.
2 sat. in a row off is almost unheard of lol. Hope you get the ride worked out K.

we might just trailer up for the day and come home that night.
That being said anyone wanna head up for the day. I have a few friends that will be there....I think its going to be a little busy...

I might be up for this. Cabin, or a day trip.
Your right about it being super busy. Saturday up there feels like a cruise down peachtree st with curves, lol.
Hwy 28, cherahola, and some other gems in the area would be worth it though. I will have to see if I can commit, and I should know here in the next couple weeks.
I actually have a friend that owns a "cabin" up there near richard russell. More like a permanant rv, but its labeled a cabin in a cabin type subivision. :) Sleeps several, though it isn't close to the dragon, but could still be a good time...:cheers:

yea i intentionally put that its busy because I know some would not appreciate getting there with the amount of riders I'm expecting. I'm meeting some people up there doing lunch and all....so we'll pretty much stay at the dragon, perhaps run down to fontana to get a trip on hellbender....
if you decide to come up let me know...we're going to leave butt crack early to try and get a few runs in before it gets thick....and leave when the store closes. I have to set up to meet killgirl to pick some stuff up and dave from US129 for rally stuff.....
I will be bringing a cooler and loading it with water, etc so we can stay hydrated...its suppose to be in the low 90s w/ 40% chance of tstorms....maybe that will drive away some less determined riders ;)

Scoot...no cherahola....its that chase the tail hillclimb thing over there. Its a car thing. I was jut talking to Lori at Killboy to set up a time to meet and that's where she'll be.
Not sure how that will affect the traffic on the dragon...heavier cuz they can't do the dragon or keep people away cuz the name is deceiving that its on the dragon...

Well that sucks. Sounds like its gonna be a serious traffic jam up that way. Might be better for myself to go another time. :popo:
