I will create a poll for this, as I am sure there are some folks who don't want their name attached to a "yes - I enjoy tobacco" question.
The reason I am asking is for a possible "Herf and Turf" GSB get together or even a charity ride.
"Herf"
A lively gathering of cigar-smoking/pipe-smoking comrades who meet in a restaurant, club, cigar store or home to share their appreciation of fine cigars and tobacco.
And the Turf would be BBQ or some such animal flesh....

I have no problem admitting that I smoke. I'm by no means a connoisseur, just an average guy that like a stoogie every now and then. I'm also not big on large group rides, but a small group is alright and it never hurts to meet new folks, never know what you might be able to learn.

While cigars are somewhat monochromatic from a flavor standpoint (the flavor comes strictly from tobacco), pipe tobacco has a very wide variety of actual tobacco and toppings that are used to add flavors. These vary from cheap, overly-moist drug store pipe tobacco (SuperValu being one brand often seen) to very high quality American and European blends.
You can go to www.puff.com/vb/forums and go to their General Pipe forum, as well as www.tobaccoreviews.com and even some of the retail online, such as www.smokingpipes.com.

I would definately be interested in this, cigars are great if you know what you like and dislike.

If it has been a long time you might want to wipe down the inside with a wet sponge (distilled water)to treat the wood again.
I have always enjoyed a nice cigar from time to time. I would prob smoke more but everyone I normally hang out with doesnt care for them. My wife went out and bought me a tobacco pipe to smoke cause she isnt a fan of the smell of cigars. She said she would much rather smell pipe tobacco. Smoking a tobacco pipe isn't as easy as it looks but they do smell/taste good.
BTW - Anyone on this side of town D & R Cigars in Braselton across from Chateu Elan is prob the best place to go.

Love cigars but nothing to ride right now. Unless we take it to the dirt!

I started with the pipe about 4 years ago. Minus the cost of the pipes, which can vary greatly, the cost of tobacco is vastly cheaper then cigars. I could not justify 10 bucks for a stick anymore.
You can even get very cigar-like pipe tobacco, and a 50 gram tin will provide ten to twelve 30-45 minute smokes... for about 10-15 bucks per tin. Much cheaper then cigars AND you can let the pipe go out and then relight it and it does NOT taste nasty.
The bulk tobacco is even cheaper, and once you get the smoking rythym down, you are golden. Youtube has lots of good tutorials. (but beware the big burly guys smoking pipes with no shirts on, some fetishes really are just odd)

Every time you go out of town, your wife and I re-enact what Bill Clinton did with your cigars.

I hear that you can also dip them in rum...... But do that second... otherwise it might burn.

I enjoy the occasional reasonably decent cigar, but crazy work schedule and living out in Villa Rica will probably preclude me attending any event.

Highland cigar bar is a really nice joint in town.
I might not do something weekly, but I'd join for an event.
