what are some must have android apps?

Just moving my oldest off his iphone and onto an android phone so I can drop his data plan, not sure what I should set it him up with to start

Amazon marketplace app... free paid app every day.. (have to register or login at amazon.com, can't get it from the google marketplace..)

cool will install that on both the phones, my youngest has an unlocked G1 with no data plan running cyanogenmod, oldest now has an LG optimus T with the stock load, 2.3 is supposed to come out next month

Just loaded 2.3 on my Inc 2 and love it. Really fixes a good bit, IMHO. Phone seems "snappier" and some nice new additions like quick settings on the pulldown menu. Several other little tweaks as well.

Bump, coupons app, dropbox, Google goggles, kayak (if you travel a lot), mp3 music download (free music ftw!), pandora, slacker radio, screen shot it, rom manager (if you flash a lot of roms), shazam, speed test, tapatalk, volume boost, xda (also for flashing roms).

app brain, circle battery widget, system panel, quick settings, teslaLED, shootme (requires root), netflix (requires root and a hacked app available online), acar if you like tracking your car maintenance, pandora, miren browser, wifi file explorer pro, cache cleaner ng, titanium backup (requires root), ulysse gizmos, first aid, army survival guide, reddit is fun, bubble (level), google sky map, wikidroid.... Off the top of my head. :D
