Just found this deal on Bud's Gun Shop and seems to be a really good price. I've been wanting to pick up a 22LR tactical for a cheap plinker and target rifle. I had been looking at the Smith and Wesson, but the price on this one really got my attention.
$249 seem like a good price on this? Be worth ordering?

Yeah, I checked some of the reviews and they were showing what you were saying. Oh well, that just hit the back burner for having to buy a new damn router and tv tomorrow anyway. FML

I bought one of those M&P AR15/22's a few weeks back for my son and I to play with. Man, that's a fun little rifle. Cheap to shoot too!

Go buy a Ruger 1022. Then modify as needed for your personal preference. Lots of options out there and it'll be better than the Mossburg.

Thanks Lee and Mongo. I'll check those out. Sound like great ones to go with.
I have a GSG-5 .22 plinker. I really dig it. Fun and cheap gun to shoot.

Agree with the 10/22 route. They've been out almost forever, and parts are easy to find and usually cheap. It's a 1980's Honda of a rifle. You can't destroy those things during any kind of normal use.

That reminds me, I need to go shoot mine, just put a new stock on it and finally got a scope after a decade or more....

That reminds me, mine will be 18 years old this year. My dad got it for me for my 12th birthday.

Nice. First thing I ever shot was my dads 1022 but it got stolen not long after. That was 37 or 38 years ago. Still a great little gun.

ditto the 10/22 or S&W MP in 22lr. either one will be more the best money you can spend. I've got three 10/22's (one serial number in the 4xx range) and still enjoy shooting them. one in storage, one w hogue overmolded stock with Tac Sol SBX barrel (waiting on suppressor) and one stainless w/ international stock w leupold scope. I have a spare butler creek folding stock, and lots of magazines for them. love me some 10/22.
I'll probably get a CMMG 22lr upper soon as I already have a lower receiver just waiting for the upper. C3 billet lower with Daniel Defense parts kit, and Magpul ACS stock already fitted. that'll be fun once I get the upper for it.

As for the durability of the 10/22 there is nothing that compares. These are great guns that are extremely accurate. And yes there are many many parts out there for them. You can even get some high dollar ones as well. I think we have 5 or 6 of them all with different set-ups (2 with suppressors). All in all a great firearm. However if you are interested in having a 22LR in an (AR) the S&W MP is without a doubt one of the better ones.

The MP15 in .22LR is my favorite one at the range. They see me coming and pull it off the wall. Low maintenance, accurate, easy to shoot well, and cheap to shoot. Damn, I need to buy one.
