From what I hear, they're a little more comfortable than the SMX+ that I have. Better airflow and people can't hear you squeaking from a mile away.
I absolutely love my SMXs though.

As for the squeaking... Yeah, I squeak... However I would have to disagree with the comfort, although I have never rode in the 5's... (Airflow might be nicer, but don;t know) I think the fit of the SMX+ are better due to the inner boot, I feel I get a better fit. Not sure what Sidi's you had, but I like my buddy's Sidi's better then the 5's. The 5's have no tightening system, ex. the ratchet strap. For the price they are not bad. I also like the Dainese TRQ's.

In all seriousness, I know there's a ton of jokes about pledge close to bikes, but in this case it works. I got the +s last year to be pissed that they didn't break in the way I thought they would and lose the squeak. Took all of 10 seconds and two sprays of pledge, one on each heel, and the deal was done. Not one iota of squeak since.
I love the things now. They disappear once on, and even in the heat of last summer they weren't all that hot. Plus, they'er schuper aweshome for dragging toe through a corner.
I'd buy another pair if I needed to.

How are the sized running on them? All the reviews show them running a half size small.

I almost bought the SMX 5's, but went with the Puma 1000 v1 instead <.<

The Puma's sure do look cool, tat is all I know about them however.
As for the sizes, I know my SMX+'s... I bought them half a size smaller then my running shoes would be.

Mine were really close. I converted my size, 14, over to metric and it came out really close. I think I bought the next size up to account for a little swelling during long rides and for thicker socks in cooler weather and haven't had an issue since I pledged them, and the squeak was the only issue at that point.
Just ordered the new SMX+. Should be here next week. I will let you know the fit.

I have the Plus. They are really comfy. Im still getting used to them. My last boots had a thinner toe and I am occasionally missing up shifts because i cant get my toe under the shifter.

Just adjust your shift linkage to increase the space. Simple 2 minute job and no more missed shifts.
