For those that have been you know it's an adventure to say the least. For those that haven't been, well, you've missed out.
So get out your calendars. Here's the dates:
April 10 / 11 (Pensacola) We'll be staying at the Days Inn Downtown, $80 for 2 double beds, split it 4 ways!
May 8 / 9 (Yes I know it's Mother's Day) Not sure on where just yet
June 11/12/13 (Most likely headed to WV/KY so we'll leave Friday Evening)
Idea is to meet early saturday morning, ride most of the day (no slabs) get to destination, turn around Sunday am and ride home.
disclaimer: If you are an economics teacher / future lawyer with a GS500 who's never ridden more than 50 miles from home and packs his bike like you're going on a 3 month trip STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm on my own bike and can pack what I want! :p

The Charleston trip was a blast... I'm out for April. I can maybe do the May trip, but that's too far for me to commit.

Okay, I'm in.
Come out and join us. It will be one of my nice back roads route. Dbl K made me promise no gravel, so I'll do my best! :D
He didn't say anything about sand though!

Woohoo, what a great trip and just what I needed.
It ended up being Dbl K, Jamie, Davenjai, Kith, & Myself. I spent almost 5 hours planning the back road route out there and back and using Google Street view to make sure none of my roads were dirt/gravel. It really paid off, as we got to enjoy a ton of very nice secondary roads without hitting gravel and dirt like you usually do when you get too far out.
The route out there was 330 miles from Newnan and took us through some amazing scenery and back roads. We had no interstates at all on the way out there, and only 1 really major highway coming through Columbus.
The route back today was 303 miles with a bit of interstate first thing this morning to get out of Pensacola, but once out of there, we hit some really good back roads. Some of them flowed really nice and we were out in the boonies most of the time. Only one very short dirt road that I must have missed, but it wasn't bad and the guys were all good sports about it. (I think Davenjai is faster in the dirt on his CBR600 then he his on his KTM250! After lunch around Opelika, AL, everyone was pretty ready to get back home, so we jumped on 85 there. I jumped back off at West Point, and took back roads home.
633 miles total and a great time! Till the next one.
I'll post trips and
