Anyone getting sucked into Forza 4 on Tuesday? Downloaded the demo, the gameplay is pretty sweet. I might have to pick it up.

I've been holding out on the XBox 360. This one might put me over the edge. Dammit.
I'll be getting it -loved Forza 3. That said, IMHO it only looks/feels slightly better than F3, per the demo. As one reviewer said, it's more like Forza 3.5. But will still be getting it.

The graphics on this one look simply stunning and knowing Road Atlanta is still on it, I just may have to pick it up. Time to start watching for good deals on the 360 again. And the Kinect integration on head motion is pretty damn sick!
Yep I may have to pick it up just for the kinect aspect... I like forza 3, tho I think they made it TOO dumbed down in a lot of ways..

Hehe, just be sure you watch the layout for the race... First time I did Road A in F3, I didn't notice it was the "club" layout for that race and not "full track"... Got to turn 5 and was like "WTF did this WALL come from?!?!?! SMACK"
Oh, and seriously, without a wheel, you're going to be hating it... I picked up one of the Fanatec Porsche Turbo S wheels when F3 came out. Amazing and make the game SO much more realistic...
So, yeah, I might have to go pick up F4 tomorrow... Damn, more money I don't have.... Oh well, BBuy card going up again! See you guys online...

Yeah, I can see the wheel helping with it. Funny story, the original Forza was actually what I used to get an idea of Road Atlanta before I actually turned a wheel on the bike out there. It actually was rather helpful. Mike, do I even want to know what the wheel costs?

CSR wheel (the one you need) is $249.99 + pedals...
I have the older Porsche Turbo S model with standard pedals. I REALLY wish I had gotten the clubsport pedals...
These are SUPER good wheels! VERY VERY strong force feedback motors, you can adjust settings for FF intensity, steering sensitivity / degrees of turn (900 down to 120 degrees of wheel rotation), can set the brake pedal levle when it starts to make the wheel vibrate to let you know that you're about to lock up the wheels, and they work on XB360, PS3 AND PC!
The clubsport (and I believe the CSR) pedals don't use normal potentiometers to read the pedal values, but rather load cells - ie, the HARDER you push, the more it registers (just like a real brake pedal) and are completely adjustable.
The biggest problem is having a way to mount them, and the room for it... but it makes the racing experience SOOO much more realistic! I even set the cars for pure manual trans and forza supports clutch mode - so you actually have to slip the clutch to shift or you burn out the transmission! Pop the clutch too fast on a rear wheel drive car when going slow and stomping the gas and you can make it spin out....

Woohoo! Just remembered that I had $25 in reward zone certificates from BBuy sitting in my account, so that'll help offset the cost of the game... Gonna go pick it up at lunch time I think...

F4 acquired....
BTW, at BBuy, I saw 2 different wheels from MadCatz that might be useable (albeit nowhere near as nice as the Fanatec.)
I don't remember what my XBox gamer tag is, so I'll have to post it tonight when I get home and get things loaded up...
They had the collectors edition there as well, but for $79 I didn't see what all it added that was so fantastic other than a 10 car "Muscle Car" pack (which I'm pretty sure you can buy with XBLive Points after the fact anyhow.)

I picked it up this morning, its just not hard enough! Racing on expert with all settings off but clutch use. Either way its still fun. I need to find a good wheel / pedal setup.

Are you racing at the higher levels? (A-spec, S-Spec, R3-R1?) At the lower levels (F,E,D,C) yeah, pretty easy. The speeds are low, so you can handle things pretty easily.

You have to work your way up to the faster cars. I spent half the morning racing on the wrong user profile, so its time to start over.

I saw you on when I got back from dinner, but it was like 10:30 so didn't know how long you'd be on. I'll ping you next time I see you on...
Might try to play some a bit later tonight... I'm doing grad school on top of the day job though, so I have to spend time on assignments, so I don't even think about forza until like 10pm....

Ok, beat your time on 2 of the challenges... Man, you had no idea on the route for the Top Gear Test Track did ya??? LOL.
Also, are you seeing a bug when you go into Career mode, and look at the event list? Mine is only showing 1 thing checked even though I've done a ton of events to get up to level 19.... I've just done it through the World Tour thing... Strange that it's not showing/giving credit for those.

In fairness though, I'm using a wheel and pedals, so I have an easier time holding a smooth line through turns..

I'll get ya back . I've been battling it out in the American drag rival and the drift rivals . Then I selected the top 100 rival and really lost hope for myself lol . I would love to have a wheel and pedals with a clutch .

Yeah I see you took back Suzuka... I need to either mod the transmission on the eclipse I've been using or find another car. I'm like right between gears when climbing the S's. 2nd runs out too early and 3rd is too tall for uphill like that.
Ugh I *hate* the Rwd American muscle cars. Too frickin heavy and too much rear wheel power. Get on the gas and around you go. No thanks. I prefer the 4Wd or mid rears... Way better balance and traction.

And yeah some of those people have just insane times!!! As I found in F3, a lot of it comes down to finding the right car with just the right mods and the perfect tuning setup.... I have no idea what I'm doing in the tuning, especially the suspension and roll bars and differential settings.

Just requires a lot of throttle discipline. In F3, I'd take cars out to the parking lot practice map and test out my drifting. Feather it out or around you go.

I'll get ya back just need to do some tweaks on the Eclipse (or find a better car.) I'm using manual, but paddle shifting so no manual clutch. The fanatec wheel I have does have a clutch pedal + a 6 speed shifter, but I hate it. It's loud, it's very notchy and sometimes hard to find the gear, and I just think it's slower on the shifts.
I love that they have these challenge rival things in there. Lets us compete without having to find time to play together...

Yeah, the traffic was the thing killing me! Every time I'd get to a corner, there'd be a car there blocking me! ARGH.
You put some DAMN good times down for Tsukuba and Suzuka now! I tried for an hour or two last night to beat those but couldn't, even after tuning and trying some different cars....
I'll have to see what I can do about the Stratos one... I remember that it took me MANY laps to finally beat your last time and I only JUST BARELY did it.
