My nephew in Texas has a hawk that he spikes and puts purple color on the tips of each spike. I believe his may be a tad bit taller to.

that's where I keep it usually, the roommate cuts it for me, she's been sick, so I haven't asked her to cut it recently. Plus, my hair grows wicked quick, I have to do it every couple of days to keep it from looking shaggy.

No glue. I promised myself that when the mohawk became a hassle, it would go, or be trimmed at least. I use some gunk called got2bglued hair glue (a real thick creme, it takes very little), with a couple shots of got2bglued freezing hairspray afterwards. Only takes 5 to 8 minutes to style (obviously this one came out a little weird, I'm still trying new techniques and learning every day). The stuff I use washes out with regular shampoo, but is stiff enough that I can put a helmet on over the mohawk and it pops right back up when I take it off (usually). Aside from having to use a blowdryer/hairbrush to start it, it's not any more hassle than any other hairdo I've ever had, and I really don't treat it very differently. I have to hunch a little in some smaller cars, and I can create kind of a blind spot for the driver unless I turn my head sideways. I'm a form follows function kind of guy, I refuse to let a hairstyle dictate my life, so I do the hawk and then forget about it, just like everyone else.

I wasn't born yet when mohawks were outdated. It's making a comeback. And even if it's not, I'm wearing one, and what the hell do I care what everyone else thinks? :)

Thanks Meghan, independent verification: Chicks dig the hawk. :D
And yup, hhgregg. Except when I'm at work, I slick it back. I won't lie, it looks ridiculous.. but 40 hours a week of ridiculous is totally worth getting to look THIS ridiculous the rest of the time. Oh, and the nose ring flips inside my nose, you can't even tell I had it.

i thought a good mohawk (not these silly little fashion victim fauxhawks or the no-guard-on-the-sides/#2-guard-on-the-top hillbillyhawks) was the shit back when I was a teenager in the 80s...the kind you saw at a CoC or misfits or black flag show...and I still think a well done mohawk is a thing to behold...nice job man...i just cant believe that thing stands back up after youve had a helmet on!!

haha, it's the truth! No skullet.. though I have considered shaving everything except for one kickass spike right at the front.. how much fun would that be? Wicked, thanks for the props! It's getting to the point where it's slightly less manageable, as you can see in the picture, I screwed up the front some. I'm thinking I'll trim an inch or two, just for ease of maintenance. And to think, the whole idea for this came from someone sticking a strip of velcro to my shaved head one day, and me pretending it was a mohawk. Then it turned into a bet, my friend told me if I kept a mohawk for a month, he'd never give me shit for anything, ever again. So far he hasn't. 9 months later, we have this monstrosity haha.
