This event is about helping some wonderful people do angelic work to benefit innocent children who are on a difficult path in this life. It’s not about the riders, it’s about the children. But given that, we do have a lot of fun doing some good here.
Some friends of Dream House have stepped up to provide some incentives for us to get out and raise some money this year.
Klim Technical Riding Gear (http://www.klimusa.com) has graciously offered to give a gift certificate for a set of vented riding gear (Baja pants, Mojave jersey & Mojave gloves - a $200 value per set) to the Top 5 individual fund raisers (no groups, clubs, etc.) that raise a minimum of $300 each. Go raise $300 to become eligible. Then the top 5 of those who raised $300 or more will get a set of riding gear. How do you raise $300? One way is to ask 15 friends for $20 each to sponsor your ride to benefit some children who really need our help. So you have from now until April 29 to get out there and raise some money for some great kids and get a set of great riding gear for your efforts.
Our friends at Yamaha Motor Corp. (http://www.yamaha-motor.com) have donated two (2) inverter generators, EF2400iSHC, MSRP $1,479 each.
One will be given away as our GRAND PRIZE at the Family Fun Ride. For each $150 in donations you bring, you will receive a chance in the drawing for the inverter generator.
The other one will be raffled. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The drawing for this one will be in December, 2012. The winner will be notified.
Many thanks also to our generous sponsors,
SETRA (http://www.setra.org) and
One of our traditions is the Ride of Champions. We will attempt to have a racing champion to ride a lap of the trail with the top 5 Champion Fund Raisers.
We are planning on about 10 miles of woods trail and a 1 mile grass track for the big boys and girls, and about 3/4 mile woods trail and 1/2 mile grass track for pee wees only.
Here’s a video of some fun in the woods: http://vimeo.com/11244045
And some more on the grass track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjnhySh33vc
