Joel Trent Dailey - April 20, 1969-August 23, 2003
I Did Not Die Do not stand at my grave and forever weep. I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumnÆs rain. When you awaken in the morningÆs hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and forever cry. I am not there. I did not die.
August 23, 2003, was a very sad day for the GSB family when we lost Trent "The Ingegnere" Dailey. Our dear friend was killed instantly during WERA morning practice at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway. This was his first year racing, and probably his 4th or 5th weekend. He truly fell in love with the sport. A funeral was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2003. Trent is survived by his wife Melanie, and 2 adorable daughters, Hannah, 4 and Isabella, almost a year old (ages at the time of Trent's passing), "Team Estrogen" as we fondly referred to them. Trent was Chief Engineer of Lombardini USA, Inc. and a graduate of Georgia Tech. GSB and WERA paid tribute to Trent with a memorial ride on Sept. 21, 2003 from Cycle City in Newnan, GA to Mt. Cheaha, AL. The ride benefited the Hannah & Isabella Dailey Educational Trust Fund.
